Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai for Sapa

Our trip starts with an overnight train journey from Hanoi to the border town of Lao Cai. Our English assistance will pick up & bring you to the Hanoi Station at 120 Le Duan Str, Hanoi for getting on the train departure at 21:55 – 06:00.

Day 2: Lao Cai – Sapa (B/L/D)

The train arrives at the Lao Cai train station at approximately 6:00 A.M. There will be a vehicle waiting to transfer us to Sapa Town. The drive to Sapa is only 33 km but it takes around 1.5 hours. In the terraced hills and mountains of this area, the monotony of the expansive green landscape is enlivened by the colours of its hill tribe population. It is here you will find hands stained with colour from fabric dyes and shades of blue, red and green intricately embroidered and stitched into jackets, waistcoats, pants, skirts, caps, purses and leggings.

Take a morning walking tour of Sapa for a visit to the busy market where Red Dao, Black & Flower H’Mong, Tay and other ethnic minority people converge from the surrounding countryside to sell their silverware and handicrafts, and to buy provisions. Afterwards, we will do one of the most beautiful Sapa tours with a walking tour to the hilltribe villages of Cat Cat, home to the H’mong ethnic minority peoples. As you walk to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa, you will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. In the village you have the opportunity to share cultural experiences with the families that live in the area. Overnight at Sapa. Note: please enjoy the love market near the Church.

Day 3: Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi (B/L/D)

Following breakfast, we explore the Sapa market (Can Cau Market – Saturdays; Bac Ha MarketBac Ha Market or Muong Hum Market or Muong Khuong Market – Sundays; Cao Son Market – Wednesdays; Lung Khau Nhin Market – Thursdays; Coc Ly Market – Tuesdays) and then set out on our 3-4 hour trek that will take us along buffalo paths and trails and through several hilltribe villages of Lao Chai and Tavan, home to the H’mong, and Dzay people. This is an absolutely spectacular walk through stunning scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people you could ever meet.

Stopping for a picnic lunch on the way to a family home in Ta Van village.

Transfer to Lao Cai station for the train back to Hanoi departure at 21:05-06:00. Overnight at the train. The trip ends at Hanoi station. Vietnam BNS Travel and its team hope to serve you next time.
