Itinerary

Day 1: HANOI – HALONG BAY

Morning:      

Guests get ready to be picked up at around 7:30-8:30 AM by Our guide. The journey to Halong Bay takes 4 hours, and then guests embark at Tuan Chau Pier / Hon Gai barbour.

Afternoon:    

Upon embarkation, guests are welcomed aboard by the crew and given briefing of the trip itinerary by the expert tour guide before checking into the cabin and getting to know the cruise. The program commences now.

Guests then enjoy the Vietnamese lunch on board while the cruise starts drifting into the tranquil water of the Bay. Visiting the limestone cave in Halong Bay follows afterwards. Get back to junk for swimming, relaxing.

Evening:       

Delicious and nutritious Vietnamese dinner prepared by some of the best chefs awaits guests at the cruise’s fine dining restaurant. Private dining options (on sundeck, on the beach or in a cave) are available upon request.

Evening activities include drinking at bar and socializing with other fellow travelers, watching films, reading books or indulging oneself with onboard top spa service for complete relaxation. Joining the squid fishing is also worth trying once you are on board.

Kayaking in Halong Bay

Day 2: LAN HA BAY/ BAI TU LONG BAY – FISHING VILLAGE

Morning:      

Guests are Explorer through the main Halong Bay and the less visited area of Bai Tu Long Bay. The activities then depend on the time period.

  • During winter time, guests will have the chance to visit Cat Ba Island and cycle along the stunning coastal line then through the jungle to get to Viet Hai Village to explore local lives on the island.
  • Summer program is to take guests to one of the largest fishing villages in Halong Bay – Vung Vieng fishing village to explore the local floating lives. Guests are transferred to a small rowboat to paddle through the village and interact with the locals, then row to a pearl farm to see the pearl extracting technique demonstrated by the farmers there.

Afterwards guests come back to the Explorer for lunch while the vessel heads to the Bai Tu Long Bay area.

Afternoon:    

Relax at a peaceful area of small caves and beautiful lagoons where guests can enjoy swimming in a spectacular pool among striking mountains and dense jungle or kayaking through various rock formations to further explore the stunning beauty of the Bay.

Then guests return to the cruise to enjoy a pre-dinner drink or spa treatment onboard. Don’t miss the Happy Hour as a time to socialize with other passengers.

Evening:       

Scrumptious dinner with the finest Vietnamese cuisines featuring fresh seafood and local specialties.

Private dining options are available on advance request to make your trip even more memorable. There is a wide range of night activities on board for guests to select from: drinking, reading, watching films, spa treatment, squid fishing … Let’s make the best out of your last night on Halong Bay.

Day 3: HALONG BAY – HANOI

Wake up for tea and coffee, the early morning is devoted to swimming and kayaking around Halong Bay. Guests can enjoy the calm stillness of the emerald water and see a peaceful Halong Bay at its best before you say goodbye to here.

An enormous breakfast with both Vietnamese and International options is then served on board before guests check out and settle the bill to head back towards Tuan Chau Pier/ Hon Gai barbour.

On arrival, guests walk back to the Lounge and Café for a drink or light snack before getting on the shuttle bus back to Hanoi (At around 11:00, a la carte lunch will be served). The trip ends at around 4 PM at guests’ hotel.

  • Cruise itinerary and schedule are subject to change due to weather, tide levels and operating conditions. Swimming or kayaking excursions may be cancelled due to poor weather.
  • Meals on board are fusion: Vietnamese, seafood & international. Guests should advise of any special food preferences, allergies or dietary requirements at least one (1) week prior to the cruise date.
  • Advance registration is required with full name, date of birth, nationality, gender, passport number and visa expiry date for all passengers. A valid passport is required upon check-in. Otherwise, boarding may be denied by port authority.
  • No charge for cancellations made more than 07 days prior to cruise departure
  • Wifi is available onboard for free of charge in the terrace deck. However, interruption is expected due to nature of internet signal at sea.

FAQs

Do we get pick up from hotels in Hanoi?

  • We arrange shuttle bus (16 seat minibus) to pick up visitor from hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter. Pick up time is 7:45am – 8:15am every morning. You are recommended to have breakfast and be ready at hotel’s lobby.
  • Pick up request at Hanoi Airport is not available, it can be handled by private car only, and shuttle bus could not pick up or drop off you there.
  • Pick up request at Hanoi train station (Sapa arrival) is not available, as you arrive early at 5:00 am from Sapa while our shuttle bus- pick up time at 7:45am. You can choose to get back at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or Tamarind coffee (at 80 Ma May st, open from 5:00am) to relax, having breakfast before shuttle bus pick up at 7:45am.

Do we have kayak in Ha Long Bay with your boats?

Kayaking is a part of itinerary included in price. You will have longer time for kayaking in 3 day 2 night program.

What should I bring on board?

  • You are recommended to bring:  sun glasses, sun block, wide brim hat, insect repellents, swimming suites (in summer) or warm clothes (in winter) and original passport.
  • Tips: You can also bring some Candy, cakes, books, notebooks, pens, pencils or other learning tools for children and elderly in the fishing village

How many luggage should I bring on board?

You should bring with you the necessary ones as there is not much space on shuttle bus.  Because we will drop you at the same hotel after Halong Bay trip so you can leave your big suitcase at the hotel. If you need to go directly to Airport or train station you can bring your entire luggage.

How can I make payment for trip?

When you book a trip with us, there would be a deposit required (30% in total price). You can choose to do deposit via direct bank transfer, Onepay (Credit card online payment) or Authorization letter with relevant bank fee request.  The most popular one is OnePay with detail Guideline and Term, Conditions.  The balance of the trip can be paid when you arrive in Vietnam by cash or credit card.  You are recommended to visit our sales office in Hanoi for payment and other details

Can I order meals on boat as vegetarian or special diet?

We are willing to prepare alternative menu for your food requirement.  Depending on your food request, our cook will prepare the most suitable one. Please, inform us in detail your special food request latest in the morning of the cruise date.

When is the best time to visit Ha Long Bay?

Summer is good time to Ha Long Bay, you have time to enjoy thousands of limestone islands in the Bay, swimming, kayaking and visiting fishing village under sunlight. However, summer is not the high season in Ha Long Bay and it is hot too. Many tourists visit Ha Long bay during fall and spring in colder weather and have great time there.

Do your boats sail or run by motors in the Bay?

Most of our boats run by motors in the Bay due to carrying many passengers and cruising for long distance. The Princess and Lagoon Explorer Junk can truly sail under weather allowance and time control.

How far is that from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay?

The distance between Hanoi and Ha Long Bay is 180km that will take you 3.5 – 4.0 hours. Our shuttle bus will pick you up at hotels from 7:450 – 8:15 am. During the transfer, you will enjoy countryside landscape with rice fields, water buffalos; villages….Our bus will arrange a stopover on the half way around 20 – 30 minutes.
