Drive through the rural villages of northern Vietnam, board a private Chinese junk and set sail through turquoise waters dotted with over 2,000 magnificent limestone islands. Explore the many karsts and enjoy a seafood buffet while taking in the bay’s mystical scenery.

Itinerary

Morning   

Guests get ready to be picked up at around 7:30 – 8:30 AM by Our guide. Your Halong Bay tour begins with a 3.5 hours drive from the hectic pace in Vietnam’s capital city – Hanoi, to the tranquil and beautiful Halong Bay. Enjoy the landscape of the Red River Delta country side and have a short break on the way.

12:00 – Upon arrival in Ha Long, board the traditional junk for your cruise on Halong Bay, famous for its lime karsts jutting out of the green waters creating a spectacular vista as nearly 2000 islands fill the bay.

What You Can Expect

There, have your camera ready to take photos while cruising through the limestones of the mountains outcropping the emerald water.

Have lunch while passing by beautiful Dog Stone, Incense Burner islet.

Afternoon

We then stop at a fishing village to see local fishmen and learn about their life. You can kayak (optional) here around the community to get in touch with the local people. Kayaking further through the “tunnel caves” to a secluded lake. After that, you can take photos of Ha Long symbol, Fighting Cock rock and visit Thien Cung cave which is famous for magical stalagmites and stalactites.

The cruise explores some of the grottos and caves that have formed in many of the islands that fill Halong Bay. Visit a fishing village where you learn about the culture and customs of the local inhabitants and enjoy a scrumptious seafood lunch on board the boat before returning to Hanoi.

Trip notes

  • Cruise itinerary and schedule are subject to change due to weather, tide levels and operating conditions. Swimming or kayaking excursions may be cancelled due to poor weather.
  • Meals on board are fusion: Vietnamese, seafood & international. Guests should advise of any special food preferences, allergies or dietary requirements at least one (1) week prior to the cruise date.
  • Advance registration is required with full name, date of birth, nationality, gender, passport number and visa expiry date for all passengers. A valid passport is required upon check-in. Otherwise, boarding may be denied by port authority.
  • No charge for cancellations made more than 07 days prior to cruise departure
  • Wifi is available onboard for free of charge in the terrace deck. However, interruption is expected due to nature of internet signal at sea.

FAQs

Do we get pick up from hotels in Hanoi?

  • We arrange shuttle bus (16 seat minibus) to pick up visitor from hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter. Pick up time is 7:45am – 8:15am every morning. You are recommended to have breakfast and be ready at hotel’s lobby.
  • Pick up request at Hanoi Airport is not available, it can be handled by private car only, and shuttle bus could not pick up or drop off you there.
  • Pick up request at Hanoi train station (Sapa arrival) is not available, as you arrive early at 5:00 am from Sapa while our shuttle bus- pick up time at 7:45am. You can choose to get back at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or Tamarind coffee (at 80 Ma May st, open from 5:00am) to relax, having breakfast before shuttle bus pick up at 7:45am.

Do we have kayak in Ha Long Bay with your boats?

Kayaking is a part of itinerary included in price. You will have longer time for kayaking in 3 day 2 night program.

What should I bring on board?

  • You are recommended to bring:  sun glasses, sun block, wide brim hat, insect repellents, swimming suites (in summer) or warm clothes (in winter) and original passport.
  • Tips: You can also bring some Candy, cakes, books, notebooks, pens, pencils or other learning tools for children and elderly in the fishing village

How many luggage should I bring on board?

You should bring with you the necessary ones as there is not much space on shuttle bus.  Because we will drop you at the same hotel after Halong Bay trip so you can leave your big suitcase at the hotel. If you need to go directly to Airport or train station you can bring your entire luggage.

How can I make payment for trip?

When you book a trip with us, there would be a deposit required (30% in total price). You can choose to do deposit via direct bank transfer, Onepay (Credit card online payment) or Authorization letter with relevant bank fee request.  The most popular one is OnePay with detail Guideline and Term, Conditions.  The balance of the trip can be paid when you arrive in Vietnam by cash or credit card.  You are recommended to visit our sales office in Hanoi for payment and other details

Can I order meals on boat as vegetarian or special diet?

We are willing to prepare alternative menu for your food requirement.  Depending on your food request, our cook will prepare the most suitable one. Please, inform us in detail your special food request latest in the morning of the cruise date.

When is the best time to visit Ha Long Bay?

Summer is good time to Ha Long Bay, you have time to enjoy thousands of limestone islands in the Bay, swimming, kayaking and visiting fishing village under sunlight. However, summer is not the high season in Ha Long Bay and it is hot too. Many tourists visit Ha Long bay during fall and spring in colder weather and have great time there.

Do your boats sail or run by motors in the Bay?

Most of our boats run by motors in the Bay due to carrying many passengers and cruising for long distance. The Princess and Lagoon Explorer Junk can truly sail under weather allowance and time control.

How far is that from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay?

The distance between Hanoi and Ha Long Bay is 180km that will take you 3.5 – 4.0 hours. Our shuttle bus will pick you up at hotels from 7:450 – 8:15 am. During the transfer, you will enjoy countryside landscape with rice fields, water buffalos; villages….Our bus will arrange a stopover on the half way around 20 – 30 minutes.
